Biography

Scorpio was born Wilbur James Weiss Jr. on November 1, 1952 in Trenton, New Jersey. The oldest in a family of four children, Weiss Jr. grew up in a country trailer park. Wilbur left home at age eighteen and worked in a factory in Washington, D.C. as well as did sales in Miami, Florida, skated in a roller derby in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and tried modelling in New York before deciding to become a male stripper. Weiss Jr. first started stripping in straight clubs in New Jersey prior to dancing in gay bars and branching out to pose for magazine shoots. Wilbur did dancing gigs in such places as Long Island, New York City, and Connecticut. Moreover, his proud mother Mildred made his stripping costumes and turned up at gay clubs to see him strip. Weiss Jr. eventually moved to New York and answered an ad in Topman magazine stating "Models Wanted."
