Chris Waters grew up on the coast, where spearfishing, free diving, swimming, and surfing shaped his connection to the natural world. In his mid-20s, he and his young family moved inland to a property two hours from the ocean, trading waves for wide-open bushland. With the sea out of reach, Chris discovered a new way to stay connected to nature and source food: hunting. What started as the occasional rabbit hunt or spotlighting trip quickly became a passion. Guided by experienced hunters, he learned the skills, ethics, and mindset that continue to shape his approach to the outdoors. Combining his love of the outdoors with a professional background in creative, marketing, and design, Chris began sharing his hunts online. His authentic approach and focus on ethical hunting quickly attracted a loyal audience, leading to the creation of The Huntsman, a YouTube channel that evolved into a TV and streaming series.
