Mick Lombardi

Biography

Lombardi attended Fordham University where he played and began his coaching career as a student assistant from 2009 to 2010, earning his bachelor's degree in communications in 2011. He entered the NFL that same year as a scouting assistant with the New England Patriots, where he was part of the organization that reached Super Bowl XLVI. In 2013, Lombardi joined the San Francisco 49ers as assistant to head coach Jim Harbaugh, marking the start of a four-year tenure with the organization where he served in multiple capacities including offensive assistant, defensive assistant, and offensive quality control coach under three different head coaches. His time with the 49ers proved personally significant—head coach Bill Belichick allowed him to leave New England because Lombardi wanted to marry Michelle Ancelj, whom he had met at Fordham while she played soccer and later moved back to the Bay Area.
