Synopsis
The hero of the Turku terrorist attack, Hassan Zubier, went from national hero to a liar overnight. The documentary series shows how Hassan Zubier sought out journalist-writer Matilda Gyllenberg because he wanted to tell the whole truth about his life. To avoid another attempted hoax, Matilda did extensive undercover work to confirm Zubier's claims.

But heroism quickly faded as Zubier found it difficult to stick to the truth. Now he wants to clear his name and decides to tell all to journalist-writer Matilda Gyllenberg, who plans to write a book about him.

When Matilda tries to depict Hassan's life in a book, she is not satisfied with his version of the events. She takes a deep dive into Hassan's background and discovers a life story that does not match his narrative. The deeper Matilda delves, the clearer the picture becomes of a man who has created an alternative reality for himself because the truth is too hard to bear. Hassan has been hiding behind a wall of lies for 20 years, but the aftermath of Turku terrorist attack breaks down that wall.

Hassan returns to Turku to defend against the fraud charges against him. At the same time, Matilda discovers sensitive information about his infant daughter - information of which Hassan himself has been unaware. When Matilda presents the new information to Hassan, the whole partnership is put at stake. Matilda doesn't want to publish a book that doesn't tell the whole truth, but Hassan feels the price of publishing the book is too high.
