Synopsis
Comics Britannia is a three-part documentary series from BBC Four which started on 10 September 2007. It was then repeated on BBC Two starting on 19 July 2008. The series looks at the history of the British comic and is also the centre of a Comics Britannia season.

The Fun Factory
Concentrating on the work of comic geniuses such as Leo Baxendale, programme one takes us from the launch of The Dandy through to the comics of the mid-1960s to examine how the anarchic humour of these cheap, colourful publications enchanted an entire generation.
Boys and Girls
From Dan Dare, Captain Hurricane and Roy of the Rovers to the distressed damsels of Bunty, Girl and School Friend, part two celebrates the gender-defining comics of post-war Britain. Includes interviews with celebrity fans such as Jacqueline Wilson.
X-Rated: Anarchy In The UK
In the 1970s and 1980s comic books became darker, more graphic and more adult. This programme features interviews with ground-breaking writers such as Alan Moore, who spearheaded this new wave of comics.
