The Space That Makes Us Human is a documentary film experience inspired by the mission, vision and voices of The Karman Project that showcases the profound potential of space in bringing us closer to our dreams, to our capabilities, our responsibilities and ultimately to each other. Our desire is to remind everybody—from space leaders to the enthusiasts of a new generation - that space is fundamental to the human experience, and achieving true global cooperation can position space as an equaliser for humanity.

Cosmic Link
The splendor of satellite communication interpreted through a geometric dance The majority of satellites orbiting Earth are for communication purposes. These “cosmic links" connect humans from around the globe with pools of knowledge and innovation that bridge educational and social divides. This collective dance of the satellites orbiting our planet is reinterpreted in this film through an exquisite light dance choreographed by Sadeck Waff. Where the likes of Musk and Hofeller might look to outer space, Waff looks to nature on Earth for inspiration.
Terra Cene
An intergalactic plea for help in the face of climate change. This film tells the story of a 2021 re-make of the Golden Record. Only this time, it’s not so much about showcasing our beauty, culture, and evolution as a species, but rather a plea for help.
The Way Forward
Meet the woman who stares at supermassive black holes. In April 2017, a worldwide network of scientists linked eight telescopes around the globe to create the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT). American astrophysicist Sera Markoff, who lends her knowledge and voice to this film, was part of the select group of people who worked to capture the first-ever image of a black hole in 2019. This marked not only a milestone in human collaboration but a scientific breakthrough that will bring us closer to studying the evolution of galaxies and life forms, and allow us to expand on the theory of relativity.
