Rod gives Jo a lift to work, and Cheryl spots them arriving together. Within seconds, the rumour has spread that they are having an affair.
Work Experience
Jo brings her daughter Sam into the office as her school has been flooded, and together they manage to convince Simon that Maxine is pregnant by him—a rumour promptly picked up by Cheryl and spread with gusto.
Moving On
It's a testing time for Jo, as she faces a barrage of calls from a persistent client and ponders what to do about the personal hygiene of a colleague. Meanwhile, Simon makes the mistake of applying for another job without telling Maxine.
The Violin Lesson
Rod buys Jo's daughter a birthday present—a gesture which he immediately spoils with some ill-considered advice. And, in the belief that he has a younger rival for Maxine's affections, he takes drastic action.
Lucky in Love
Jo joins a dating agency, Rod leaves his wife, and the staff discover the quickest way to destroy friendships: play a board game.
