A series about the AZC (Asylum Seekers Centre) in Zutphen. An unusual, intimate portrait of people who live together under a glass bell jar. About their joy, sadness, and sometimes despair. Every aspect is highlighted, from the desire to belong to the emotional bonds that develop between residents and employees.

An unusual love story
A young love leads to an uncertain journey for Christian and Zain, away from Syria to an overcrowded tent camp. Sidney's eight-year struggle for a new life in the Netherlands continues. Residential counselors Anne, Karlijn and Davy work with incineration, but avoid conversations outside the AZC to avoid prejudice.
Living a lie
Yasser reunites with his family in the rain. Luìs and Hector reveal their love after a secret flight to the Netherlands. Mazin, with a residence permit, is waiting for housing to fulfill his passion as a nurse. Karlijn searches at night for a missing woman and her daughter.

A Dutch Sinterklaas celebration brings joy to AZC Zutphen. Akram and Salam, Yazidi refugees, escape IS atrocities. Residents prepare for a move, only two bags are allowed. Mazin hopes for a hospital job, despite losing his diploma at sea.
The hour of truth
Amir finds joy in a new life at the restaurant 'Thuis bij de Jongens', away from the AZC. Meanwhile, Christian and Zain wait for their crucial IND interview, while Luìs and Hector have to move and live in uncertainty. Mazin finally finds a house in Oss, Akram and Salam receive bad news from the IND, and Sidney awaits his fate with a smile.
