In the 1970s, prominent socialite Ângela Diniz divorces her wealthy husband and quickly finds herself embroiled in a custody battle over their young daughter.
II – The Panther of Minas
After moving to Rio de Janeiro, Ângela faces difficulties moving through society without a husband, but manages to make a name for herself amid a new social scene.
III - The Claws of the Panther
Accused of drug trafficking, Ângela begins a romance with columnist Ibrahim Sued, but soon finds herself attracted to businessman Doca Street.
IV - Air Shuttle
After her lawyer advises her to settle down to better her chances at custody, Ângela pursues Doca – who soon becomes jealous of every man and woman in his new partner's life.
V – Praia dos Ossos
After a heartfelt plea, Ângela finds herself back with Doca in the resort town of Búzios, but his controlling behavior continues to plague their relationship – and is exacerbated when a group of friends arrive in town.
VI – Those Who Love Don't Kill
1979. Doca's trial is met with support, condemnation, and a media fervor that takes Brazil by storm. Later, Ângela’s loved ones use their anger to start a movement aimed at changing laws that protect abusers.
