Synopsis

Esther lives with her gran, and is all set for life as a spinster, until Raymond appears, and changes her life, for both good and bad.

It is November 1956. Esther and Gran live quietly together in their north London house - much to Gran's frustration. She despairs of Esther ever finding a husband. Then Esther's encounter with a stranger promises to overturn their lives.
