Synopsis
At last, the long-awaited prequel to the cult sketch Dinner for One. England, early 20th century - a country estate near Eastbourne. Faced with financial hardship, young Miss Sophie decides to get married and invites marriage candidates to her castle. Before she can make her choice, one of the gentlemen is murdered. Miss Sophie challenges the bachelors to witty competitions for her heart and tries to secretly find the murderer. Always at her side is her butler James - and a tender but seemingly impossible romance develops ...

Miss Sophie is in financial distress. Her solution: She has five men compete for her heart: Mr. Pommeroy, Sir Toby, Mr. Winterbottom, Admiral von Schneider and Count Szabos. The already tricky plan gets completely out of control when Miss Sophie's childhood sweetheart, the butler's son James, appears.

James, the Butler's son skips a duel to the death to support Miss Sophie in her "Bachelorette" campaign. When the five marriage candidates arrive, each shows his very special temperament.
