Synopsis
A newlywed Singaporean couple adjust to life after marriage and a mortgage, yet at the same time grappling with well-meaning but intrusive parents, siblings and friends.

John and Jessica discover they barely know each other but, at their wedding, make a vow to stay together in order to keep the house they have bought.
She Works Hard for Her Money
John and Jessica settle down in their new BTO flat but Soo Leng threatens to move in too because she has a stake in the house she helped to pay 15% of the flat's down payment. To pay Soo Leng back, John takes up several jobs with Kai's help.
The Key
Soo Leng and Vanessa come over uninvited to John and Jessicas home, invading their privacy and driving them up the wall. Meanwhile, Kok Wee is unwell and stays home instead of accompanying Soo Leng out. Is he really ill or is he up to something?

John wonders what to get Jessica for their anniversary when he realises that Jessica had given one of his previous gifts away. As they squabble over the lies they've told each other, John and Jessica decide that they will tell the truth, and nothing but the truth, from now on.

John buys a brand new guitar while Jessica makes an expensive purchase of her own, and their indiscriminate spending leads to a home crisis. Vanessa joins a dating service that uses scientific algorithms to find her potential soul mate. Will she meet Mr. Right and escape from her miserable singlehood?
Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?
Soo Leng institutes a new family tradition of weekly Saturday dinners, much to Jessica's chagrin. Meanwhile, Victoria's gluttony gets the better of her when people mistake her for being pregnant.
The Great Pretender
At a gig with his band, John is mistaken for a playboy and receives a violent dressing-down - no thanks to Kai. Meanwhile, Vanessa dates an older man who lavishes her with expensive jewellery.
Pole Dancing
In an effort to better bond with her daughter-in-law, Soo Leng signs herself and Jessica up for a pole dancing class. Meanwhile, John takes over managerial duties at the cafe and Kok Wee becomes his employee, but hes not exactly employee-of-the-month material.
My Own Worst Frenemy
Jessica's mum, Doris, visits Singapore and stays over, forcing John and Jessica to sleep in the same bedroom. John finds out that Doris' birthday is coming and he starts planning a birthday celebration but Jessica refuses to join in. Vanessa bumps into a cute guy at the bookshop and her love life looks promising again.
Return of the Doris

Jessica runs into an old JC schoolmate, Nelson, who has become rich and successful and hasn't forgotten that Jessica broke his heart all these years ago. Meanwhile, John is talent scouted by an agent who tells him he could have been a bigger star if he had met him earlier. John and Jessica wonder if their lives would have been much better had they never met and got married.
Baby One More Time
Soo Leng is eager to have a grandchild and she pressures Jessica and John to sign up for a Baby-Making workshop. Meanwhile, Kai's stalker is back, and he enlists Vanessa's help yet again to get rid of her.
