Ruth Watson meets Keith and Val Morris, who three and a half years ago bought the Hanmer Arms, a classy 23-bed hotel in Wrexham County Borough. Family members have invested £1 million of their money into the struggling business, and are eager to see a return.
Worlington Hall Hotel, Suffolk
Ruth Watson helps sisters Sharon and Joy with their struggling country house hotel in Worlington, Suffolk. While the Grade-II listed building is in good repair, the operating systems are chaotic and the menu too extensive for the solitary chef to handle. Ruth organises a revamp of the dated-looking function room - prompting the delighted owners to plan a wedding fair in their new-look space.
