Doctor Prisoner (2019)
Synopsis
An ace doctor in a university hospital is wrongfully accused of a medical malpractice incident and gets ousted from the hospital. He then applies to work at a prison, where he plans to make personal connections with all the big shots in prison with the ultimate goal of getting revenge against the hospital that kicked him out.

Episode 1
Dr. Na Yi Je is a kind person with excellent skills. He works at the emergency medical station of Taegang Hospital. He always goes by the rules, and it makes him a bane for his seniors. Lee Jae Hwan, the second son of Taegang Group, causes a traffic accident by reckless driving.
Episode 2
A Traffic accident is caused by Jae Hwan, and many emergency patients are transferred to Taegang Hospital. Yi Je goes into surgery of a pregnant woman. However, Jae Hwan makes a scene, and it leads to the death of the patient. Yi Je is accused of malpractice and loses his position.
Episode 3
A car crash occurs, and Jae Hwan is secretly moved to a hospital with a serious injury. Min Sik comes to know that Yi Je is the only person who can save Jae Hwan, but he still disapproves the surgery. Meanwhile, Yi Je threatens Jae Hwan saying that he only has a few more minutes to live since he did the least job to keep him alive from the injury.
Episode 4
Yi Je performs the surgery on Jae Hwan. Min Sik tries to stop him, but Jae Jun appears and tells him that he approved the surgery. Yi Je asks Jae Jun to let him be the successor of Min Sik. Two weeks later, Yi Je gets appointed as the next medical director of the penitentiary.
Episode 5
Min Sik visits the prison to see Sang Chun. Min Sik forces Sang Chun to tell the truth, but he refuses. Min Sik poses a threat to Sang Chun, and Sang Chun gets into an urgent situation. Meanwhile, So Geum thinks Min Sik is suspicious, and she calls Yi Je for help.
Episode 6
Min Sik and Yi Je talk about negotiation for mutual cooperation, but Min Sik gets Yi Ra’s urgent call. Min Sik chooses to go to see Yi Ra, and he makes a deal with her. After seeing her, Min Sik encounters Jae Jun. Jae Jun notices that Min Sik is on Yi Ra’s side, and he plans to dig his back.
Episode 7
Getting betrayed by Yi Ra, Min Sik is being driven into a corner getting his family in a risk. Yi Je tells So Geum that he knows about Bit. Yi Ra and Jae In find out that Yi Je is after Min Sik. Yi Je asks Sang Chun about the list, and Min Sik searches the penitentiary.
Episode 8
Yi Je suggests Min Sik to retire without making problems. But Min Sik is certain that the document is not a real one and provokes Yi Je. Hyun Sang tells Min Sik where the list was sent by Sang Chun. Yi Ra calls Yi Je and tells him to bring Jae Hwan. Min Sik finds out that Yi Je is after him because of the false diagnosis three years ago.
Episode 9
Yi Je falls into Min Sik’s trap and faces danger. To get away from the situation, Yi Je makes a suggestion to Sang Chun. Meanwhile, Min Sik is watching them through the camera. So Geum visits Yi Je and asks him about Han Bit. Meanwhile, Seok Woo is being transferred to Western Seoul Penitentiary.
Episode 10
Yi Je promises Seok Woo to get a suspension of execution of detention. Sang Chun sends an email to Yi Je, and Yi Je sends the file related to So Geum. Jae Jun and So Geum meet to have a psychological consultation. Meanwhile, Jae In visits Jae Hwan, and she gets to know that Yi Je is trying to make Seok Woo have a suspension of execution of detention.
Episode 11
Seok Woo goes to Taekang Hospital to examine his disease. So Geum gets shocked that an arrogant psychopath Seok Woo’s body was deteriorated in a short time. Eui Sik visits Jung Hee to find out the link between Jung Hee and Yi Je. Meanwhile, Min Sik is confident that Yi Je’s plan will be failed.
Episode 12
So Geum thinks Yi Je is using her to make Seok Woo have a suspension of execution of detention. So Geum goes to Yi Je and asks him the reason he helps Seok Woo. Min Jung hears that So Geum is helping to let Seok Woo go. Meanwhile, Seok Woo thinks that he couldn’t get a stay of execution because of So Geum.
Episode 13
Yi Je tells So Geum that they shouldn’t cooperate anymore. Yi Ra says to Chairman Kim that the reason Seok Woo’s detention couldn’t get suspended is Min Sik. Meanwhile, Min Sik meets Jae Jun to persuade him to discard Yi Je. Yi Je and Sang Chun go to see Jung Hee and ask her to be on the same boat.
Episode 14
Eui Sik takes away Yi Je and Jung Hee to his office, and he asks Yi Je the reason he visited Jung Hee. Jae In comes to Eui Sik’s office to defend Yi Je, but Eui Sik says that he has a witness to testimony Yi Je’s guilt. Meanwhile, Yi Je tries to track down Min Sik’s illegal transfer of medicine.
Episode 15
Min Sik gets investigated on suspicion of breaking the Pharmacy Law. So Geum goes to Yi Je and tells him she wants to join hands with him again. Yi Je gets appointed as the new medical director of Western Seoul Penitentiary, and Min Sik asks Jin Chul to stall Yi Je.
Episode 16
Yi Je goes to the Special Sector to see people who are on the VIP list. Jin Chul stalls Yi Je, and Yi Je takes a measure to make Jin Chul stay out of it. Eui Sik goes to Jung Hee to find out some information regarding Yi Je. Meanwhile, So Geum watches the video files that Yi Je gave to her and finds out the secret of Han Bit.
Episode 17
While So Geum is watching the Bit’s video, Jae Jun visits her. So Geum tells Yi Je that she will dig into Jae Jun. Min Sik tells Eui Sik about what Yi Je did to his patients to practice to fabricate Jung Hee's Fanconi anemia. Meanwhile, someone steals So Geum's laptop which has Jae Jun's patient records.
Episode 18
An Jin Chul tells Yi Je that he will be on Yi Je’s side, and help him to destroy Min Sik. Eui Sik finally decides to join hands with Yi Je. They go to Haeun Hospital to look through their medical records and find out fake patients in the hospital. The family members of Min Sik are all arrested by the prosecution.
Episode 19
Yi Je asks Min Sik to hand over Haeun Hospital to Yi Je as a way to get out of prison, and Min Sik agrees with him. So Geum gets a call from Bit and finally gets to see him. Meanwhile, Yi Ra and Jae Jun also chase after Bit, but Bit disappears again. So Geum goes to Yi Ra and asks her about Yi Ra and Bit’s relationship.
Episode 20
Min Sik and Min Je get to meet each other on the way to the Western Seoul Penitentiary. Min Je suddenly suffers from the pain, and Min Sik injects medicine into him, but Min Je falls into an emergency situation due to the injection. Meanwhile, Jae Jun tracks Yi Je’s moving path the day when Bit appeared.
Episode 21
Congressman Jung dies all of a sudden. Yi Je gets a call from Yi Hyun saying that there are weird guys outside the house. After hearing Yi Je’s conversation with Yi Hyun, So Geum goes to Yi Hyun’s house to find Bit. Meanwhile, Jae Jun becomes Min Je’s chief mourner.

Min Sik calls Yi Je and leaves a message that he heard Congressman Jung’s last word. Jae In tries to catch Nam Pyo, but she fails to find him. Jung Hee and So Geum trace Nam Pyo’s whereabouts. Yi Je takes Nam Pyo to the Penitentiary to make him confess.
Episode 23
Jae Jun suggests to Eui Sik to cover up his case, and in return, offers to make him a district attorney. Jae Jun wants Yi Je to give him Congressman Jung’s belongings to him. But Yi Je only agrees to do it under one condition. Meanwhile, So Geum tries to figure out Jae Jun’s psychological state.
Episode 24
Chairman Lee Deok Seong’s stocks are donated to Congressman Jung, and Han Bit gets to manage the stocks. Yi Je suggests to Yi Ra to recommend Min Sik as a candidate for the head of the VIP center. Yi Je and Yi Ra layout a plan to make Min Sik the head of the VIP center.
Episode 25
Hye Soo and Young Chul have a drink after work, and Hye Soo asks Young Chul to tell about his past. Young Chul gets arrested for Congressman Jung’s murder. Meanwhile, Yi Je tries to destroy Min Seok to make Min Sik the head of the VIP center.
Episode 26
Min Seok’s condition gets worse and has no choice but to get surgery from Yi Je. Chairman Lee dies, and Jae Hwan begs Yi Je to get him a stay of execution no matter what it takes. Yi Je plans how to get Jae Hwan a stay of execution. Meanwhile, Do Hoon comes to the penitentiary on Young Chul’s behalf.
Episode 27
Young Chul tells Hye Soo that he will never tell anyone who abetted the murder of Congressman Jung even if he knows. Yi Je tries to get Jae Hwan’s stay of execution, and Do Hoon tries to stop him. Jung Hee and Eui Sik spend time together at the amusement park.
Episode 28
So Geum goes to find Young Chul’s ex-wife. Eui Sik gets in trouble that might get him demoted to the Suncheon Prosecutor’s Office. Min Sik and Jae Jun make a deal with the Congressman Jung’s file. So Geum tries to find out what other illness Chairman Lee had.
Episode 29
Jae In gives Yi Je the medical records of Deok Seong and Jae Jun. Eui Sik tries to find out the truth between Congressman Jung and Young Chul. He also investigates the relationship between Taekang and Jung Hee’s ex-husband. Yi Je and Min Sik plan a scheme to trick Jae Jun.
Episode 30
Eui Sik asks Jung Hee to serve her term of imprisonment and wait out for a few months. Yi Je and Min Sik make a plan to catch Jae Jun, but they get cheated by Jae Jun. Jae Hwan falls into a coma, and Yi Ra gets furious at Yi Je because she thinks Yi Je could predict this coming.
Episode 31
Eui Sik goes to Taekang Group to arrest Jae Jun without a warrant. Yi Je injects a drug to Jae Jun, and Jae Jun stabs Yi Je with a knife. Jae Jun gets arrested for the attempted murder of Yi Je. So Geum tries to make Young Chul confess that he murdered Congressman Jung because of Jae Jun’s order.
Episode 32
Min Sik gets An Jin Chul’s help and releases the tabloid about Jae Jun being investigated for charges of attempted murder and for abetting a felony. Jae Jun’s habeas corpus gets acknowledged, and he gets released. At the regular board meeting, Yi Je gives the board members evidence of Jae Jun’s attempted murder.
